Pupil Voice in Action!
Children’s Wellbeing & Happiness Survey Spring 2025

The Fairway Ducks!

Another wonderful example is the adoption of our Fairway Ducks. The idea came directly from the children, whose enthusiasm and passion for having ducks as part of our school community was impossible to ignore. They made their voices heard, shared their reasons and helped shape the project from concept to reality. Check out the Head Boys & Girls presentation below.

Today, our Fairway Ducks are a much-loved part of school life and a lasting reminder that when children are given opportunities to contribute, their ideas can make a real difference.

Our New Playground!

A great example of pupil voice in action is our playground transformation. Following feedback from our children, we reviewed how our outdoor spaces could better meet their needs and interests. As a result, we introduced an outdoor gym, creating more opportunities for physical activity, movement and wellbeing during the school day. This project demonstrates how pupil feedback can lead to meaningful change and highlights our commitment to listening to and acting upon the views of our pupils.

Our pupils play an active role in shaping school life. Our School Council recently organised a Halloween Disco to raise money for our games shed, making decisions on everything from the poster design and ticket price to the playlist and snacks. Children have also met with our Head Chef to discuss school lunches, helped enhance our trips programme and even inspired the introduction of our popular Bollywood Dance Club. At Fairway, we don't just listen to pupil voice, we act on it.
